Stoke Milkers in the 1950s

The Milk Marketing Board was in operation, to secure a fair payment for farmers' milk. We drank silver top. gold top, or TT tested milk, and Ernie was the Fastest Milkman in the West. Of the farms on the map below, most of them had milk collected in the churn, daily.
